It’s a force that’s difficult to explain, and it may be one where others look at you a bit cross-eyed if you were to try to share the sheer determination you have to get there.
Our place is helping dogs. Quite specifically, our place is to help the underdogs. The forgotten. Those cast aside. The voiceless.
This journey is the manifestation of all of those things, and we also hope it’s a place where others will laugh, cry, share, learn, and get inspired to help the underdogs, too.

I've written out multiple posts and ended up deleting them all. So I will just say this...
What I find to be the hardest part of this job. It’s not the death. It's the suffering. The lack of compassion that I see. It's making the hard choices that should not have been my responsibility in the first place.
In my opinion, you owe it to your pet to be with them in their final moments... to shower them with every last drop of love you have, to reassure them and to say goodbye. It's our last act of kindness, love and compassion.

I would never leave my dogs alone to die. The other dogs need to see afterwards because they understand death but not abandonment
I believe it was easier to be there and comfort my furbabies as they slipped away.

🐾🐶 Meet Parker 🐶🐾
Gender: M
Breed: Border Collie-Pitbull Mix
Color: Black/White
Age: Approximately 3 years old
Weight: 55 lbs
Notes about Parker from Wendy:
HEALTH/VETTING: Good health, microchipped, neutered, and vaccinated
Temperament: Parker is very smart and eager to please. He knows "sit" and does fairly well on a leash. He is housebroken (except in emergencies) and does well in a create (and will go willingly if given treats).
Parker has a TON of energy, so a fenced/secured yard is preferable.
Parker LIVES for toys. Very toy and treat-driven. He does not believe in personal space and wants to be wherever his person is. He bonds very quickly to the people who are looking after him.
Parker is EXTREMELY loyal to his person. Because of his personality, safe introductions are key. He does not do well behind a barrier if being introduced. A leash with a toy or treat is best, with the person not squaring up to him or invading his space. They would need to let him come to them. If he thinks he or his person is in danger or threatened, he can become aggressive.
CHILDREN: Parker is untested with children.
OTHER ANIMALS: Small animals or many other animals are NOT recommended.

❤️They have been fully vetted/vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and microchipped. KYLO & REY are potty-trained, crate-trained, and know basic obedience and commands. Their BEST LIFE FURever family will continue to teach and work with them to positively reinforce their skills and abilities. Because KYLO & REY's early life was so difficult, they are a little skittish at first, but with a little patience, love, and affection, they warm up easily. 🤗
💜KYLO & REY💙 PERSONALITIES: The backyard is one of their FAVORITE places–they ❤️ to play and chase one another, and they have never met a ball or dog toy they didn't like 🎾 A fenced backyard is a MUST. Foster Mama says that lil' KYLO (female) is higher energy and more curious than her brother, REY (male). REY is more on the silly and goofy 🤪 side. They are BOTH such SWEETHEARTS, and they ❤️❤️❤️❤️ to CUDDLE and SNUGGLE. They have been around a young baby (no interest), and they are untested with cats or other dogs. They are located on the Gulf Coast (FL Panhandle).
❤️Their amazing foster family is under military orders that will take them out of the area soon, and we need to find their FURever family. 🏡Your home needs a sweet bonded pair like this. When you open your heart, 💜KYLO & REY💙 will be the most loyal and loving pups around.

🤍Meet MAYBELLINE🖤 One of the hardest things about rescue is to see a dog who has been broken💔...a sweet soul who has seen too much hurt and has simply given up. Sweet Maybelline🖤 was found limping in the middle of the highway, and her brokenness was so evident...so palpable. Throw Away Rescue Alabama couldn't drive by or look away. So, she stopped, loaded her into the car, and gave Maybelline her freedom ride. ❤️ We don't know what this sweet soul has seen, but I can't imagine it was good. That said, we are in the business of healing broken souls, and this girl has captured our hearts.🖤
🤍Maybelline🖤 is at her Vet appointment as I type this, and we strongly suspect she's heartworm positive, which is a *long* road to recovery. It also looks like Maybelline has either recently had puppies or is pregnant (finding out today, and I'll update the post as we have news from Teri). An amazing human has stepped up to pay for the Vet bill, and we've received two other donations so far. We are SO grateful, but we still need your help. This 🤍baby🖤 will have a long period of healing after years of brokenness.
💔Help us help this sweet soul. Help us nourish her back to health and provide the ongoing medical care and love she so badly needs.🙏We never expect donations, but we are so thankful when we receive them. No amount is too small, and we love your Prayers and Shares, too.
