At Loves Dogs, every month is a good month to celebrate our four-legged friends—but August holds a special place in our hearts. Known as Dogust, this month is considered the “Universal Birthday” for all shelter and rescue dogs whose real birthdates are unknown.
For so many pups, the early chapters of life are filled with uncertainty—abandonment, neglect, or simply being lost. By the time they make it to a loving rescue or shelter, there’s often little to no record of when they were born. That’s where Dogust comes in—giving these incredible dogs a day (or a whole month!) to be celebrated, loved, and honored.
