Discovered with her siblings in a locked shipping container with no ventilation in freezing weather, Cleo and her brothers and sisters were covered in feces, starving, stressed, and mangled with fleas and parasites.🐾 Upon closer inspection, it became apparent that Cleo had been hit by a car at some point, and her hip was shattered. The good news is that Cleo and her siblings are safe and healthy now.
Adopt Cleo
When Cleo was formally examined and x-rayed by our veterinarian, it was decided that surgery could do more harm than good, particularly because the injury had occurred quite some time ago. Cleo was prescribed Carprofen and a glucose supplement, and she will likely need to be on them for the rest of her life. Despite her injury, sweet Cleo gets around pretty well!
Cleo’s early injury certainly didn’t injure her personality and sweetness at ALL. She is a loving and sweet girl, and she simply loves to cuddle. She loves other dogs and kids, and she is untested with cats. While she knows basic obedience and commands, it will be important for her FUR-ever family to continue to work with her on training to ensure she reaches her best potential.
Cleo is completing her vetting period, and she is ready to begin the search for her FUR-ever.
