Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. Defend the rights of all those who have nothing. –Proverbs 31:8 (ICB)
Have you ever loved something so much that it’s as if a gravitational pull is bringing you closer? One where every sign directs to that place where you’re meant to be?
It’s a force that’s difficult to explain, and it may be one where others look at you a bit cross-eyed if you were to try to share the sheer determination you have to get there.
Our place is helping dogs. Quite specifically, our place is to help the underdogs. The forgotten. Those cast aside. The voiceless.
This journey is the manifestation of all of those things, and we also hope it’s a place where others will laugh, cry, share, learn, and get inspired to help the underdogs, too.

Dogs' paws are sensitive, and just like human skin, they can burn and blister when exposed to extreme heat. Unlike us, dogs don’t have the option to avoid hot surfaces unless we guide them. Prolonged exposure to hot pavement can lead to painful injuries, including burns and blisters, which can take weeks to heal and may require veterinary care.

#lovesdogsThese are what heroes look like; and we don't use that term lightly. Deputy Jack Thorpe and K9 Fiji spent 10 days in Western North Carolina searching for the missing. Jack and Fiji located more than 20 adults and children who had been reported missing, giving their families peace of mind in knowing where their loved ones are and the ability to give them a proper burial. As I type this I'm brought to tears thinking about some of the things they encountered and find myself wondering how heavy it must be for all of the SAR teams to carry around the memories of what they have encountered in the aftermath of Helene.
While details don't need to be shared, I will leave you with this, it takes a special kind of person to knowingly volunteer to go and search through hell and mud all in the name of giving families and communities closure. To say we are proud of Jack, K9 Fiji, and all of the other SAR teams would be a gross understatement. You guys are our unsung heroes, and for that, we will all be forever grateful.
"We are done. We are tired and sore, but we did our best. God bless the people of Western NC and surrounding states who lost so much."

💔💔Can you imagine? Imagine losing your home due to Helene. You leave all that you have left and take your family and dog and arrive to stay with family in Lake Butler. But the resident dog doesn’t like your pup. 💔💔
Desperate times cause for desperate measure. 💔The heartbreak of having to give your dog up to Union County Animal Control as it’s not fair to your dog with the present living arrangements.
Meet Dagger! A handsome boy with a blue eye. He’s a tripod but runs with the best of them. Please come adopt or rescue him so the family will know that he’s in a good place. Call Union County Animal Control at 386-496-2180. ❤️
⭐️⭐️Update: the owners did not leave contact info. Thank you for thinking of a temp foster situation but that is not possible. Let’s get him a new home! ... See MoreSee Less

When this happens, it's usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it or it's been deleted.0 CommentsComment on Facebook
